We had a great boat ride on the Bateaux Cruise around Manhattan and then a little jaunt to Chelsea Market. It was a beautiful day, we had 50 people on this trip, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
Our next trip will be on September 24th, where we are going to Lancaster, PA and the home of the Stolzfus. Once there we will tour the on-site miniature pony barn, see the family wood-working shop and sit down to authentic PA Dutch family style meal of fried chicken, slow cooked roast beef, original ham balls, baked rolls, mashed potatoes, Amish filling, green beans, buttered corn, homemade coleslaw, relish, apple pie, shoofly pie, ice cream and Amish made root beer. After this we will travel to the Kitchen Kettle Village giving everyone a little time to shop, if you like, at this charming village and make sure you visit the famous Jam & Relish kitchen, all this for $81.00. All monies need to be in by August 1st.
October 21st we are going to the 9-11 Memorial Museum. This Museum tells the story of the events of 9/11 through artifacts and multimedia displays. Lunch is on our own at various spots which is a short distance from the Museum. This is history, and everyone should see. Price is $65.00 monies need to be in by September 1st.
Sunday, December 8th we are going to Cape May for a heated Trolley ride through Cape May’s street; free time to visit the Washington Street Mall and have a great meal at the Lobster House. The meal will consist of clam chowder or house salad; choice of stuffed flounder, broiled fisherman’s wharf with scallops, shrimp, flounder, stuffed clam & crab cake; or chicken francaise. Bread, butter, potato, vegetable, coffee, tea, iced tea. What a way to get in the holiday spirit and for $95.00. Monies need to be in by November 1st.
In 2020, on March 31st, we are going to see Queen Esther at the Sight & Sound Millennium Theatre in Lancaster, PA. We will start our day at Shady Maple smorgasbord restaurant with delicious traditional Pennsylvania Dutch food. After the meal you are able to shop downstairs at the famous shops. We will then depart to the Theatre to see a breathtaking, captivating tale of Persian Empire, Queen Esther, with magnificent sets, special effects and live animals. Price is $135.00 and monies are needed by February 1st.
