WOMEN' S CLUB ORGANIZATION SILVERTON
By Angie Duenas
Independence Day is on Thursday, July 4, 2019. On this date in 1776 “The Declaration of Independence” was adopted by the Continental Congress observing OUR COUNTRY’S BIRTHDAY. Celebrations include so many wonderful events all over the USA such as: fireworks, family reunions, concerts, barbecues, picnics, parades, sporting events, etc. The Women’s Club wishes you, your family and loved ones a very joyful, festive and safe holiday!
How much fun did we have on Saturday, May 4th at our SOLD-OUT Annual Fundraiser? The price of admission included a fabulous dinner, desert bar and a phenomenal performance by Andre and Cirell. This Act delivered terrific singing, eccentric comedy and whimsical impressions. An excellent and pleasurable time had by all! This evening could not have been made possible if it wasn’t for our very own JoAnn Troncone and Joan Joy (Chairs) plus the team of volunteers they so amazingly put together. Thank you to all of you for your time, dedication, talent and energy.
Due to the relentless hard work of our members through 2018-2019, we fulfilled and met our fundraising allocation to several and various Organizations we hold dear to our hearts and are deeply grateful for all they do for our Community. On behalf of our Women’s Club, Pat Nilsen (Corresponding Secretary) presented a $1,500.00 scholarship to Senior Student, Hannah Clark of Toms River High School North on June 13th. We also donated $500.00 to the Fire Department, $100.00 to Caregivers, $100.00 to Meals on Wheels, $100.00 to SAVE Rescue Shelter of Toms River and $654.00 to The House of Hope. If you know or hear of a member that is ill, suffering a loss or simply enjoying a happy occasion please contact: Bunny Kedves at (732) 255-0165.
Don’t forget to come, support and enjoy yourself at our “GIFT AUCTION AND ICE CREAM SOCIAL” at Phase Two Clubhouse/Open to the Public on Saturday, July 27th at 12:00pm. Auction Called at 2:00pm.
As I mentioned in June’s article, there will be no official meetings in July and August.
